If you live in the US then you can get WIC- call your local health department. If in another country sorry I have no idea.

My dr. gave me alot! The peds office has so many samples and they have no problem giving it to you! That is why they have it! Mine gave me 26 cans of alimentum which is so expensive and it helped!

Wic will give free formula for a year also! Go to local health unit!
Just ask the midwife or health visitor – you will redeem your vouchers in a local shop or chemist. Not all shops participate, and some very naughty shops exchange them for beer or cigarettes, a good reason to abolish the voucher!

Take the vouchers to the store and cash them in. Here in Ohio women are given coupons and they are just as good as money to purchase the items that are listed on them. If your program is different from here then ask the people who gave you the vouchers.

My cousin was on WIC, they give you food vouchers while your pregnant and then you call to tell them you had the baby and they print up your vouchers for formula and you go pick them up.

Your local midwife should be able to tell you all the things you can claim and how and where to claim them.

Your breasts will make baby’s milk free of charge, while keeping baby healthy and out of the doctor’s office. If you’re concerned about money (and who isn’t?), breastfeeding is a great choice.
Inability to breastfeed is TRULY rare. Lack of support, uneducated physicians, self-doubt and unwillingness to work at a successful nursing relationship are unfortunately very common. Almost any obstacle can be overcome, including medications.

Your health visitor will tell you where you can get the milk from, it is usually a local clinic or Dr.s surgery – not necessarily your own. With my first I had to pick the milk up from a clinic I did not attend, but with my second we could pick it up from our Dr.s surgery during their weekly baby clinic. It’s changed recently, but I think you use the vouchers you are currently receiving.

Seriously – Breastfeed your baby, its free, correct temperature no bottles needed etc and only 2% of women have medical reason why they cant.
Most people these days think formula is "just as good these days" but in fact there are so many risks to your child by feeding formula.
Why arent we told exactly – because of the HUGE amount of money involved in profits from baby formula.
35 million pounds a year is spent by the NHS on treating illnesses caused by bottlefeeding!
Dont make the govt pay for artificial baby milk when the best think for him/her is free from you.
please think about this very important issue

Your all saying breast is best which is true, but I for one am not allowed to ever breastfeed due to some medication that i have been on, so were not all able to choose this option.
Like others have said, ask your midwife, they are there to advise and help you with any problems and such like.
Good luck xx

WIC__my baby brother and mom is on it. u can get free juices and regular milk and so much more not just formula!!!
and to some that say breastmilk the baby__have u ever considered that maybe that person can’t produce enough milk for the baby and may need formula to help feed the baby. my mom cant produce enough milk for my baby brother which is why he is on formula or if the baby has colic or something.
