When did you start weaning you baby?

My little girl is 14 weeks and im thinking of putting her on solids at 4 months + as she is a big baby and milk doesn’t seem to satisfy her as much. When did you start weaning you baby…I know every baby is different.

Cousins Baby, When He Was 4 Months :

Bottle For Breakfast ( Around 7am )

Bottle For A ‘Snack’ ( 10 am )

Baby Porridge For Dinner At 12pm ( Didn’t Really Look Like Porridge ! )

Bottle For Snack ( 2-3 pm )

Bottle For Dinner ( 5-6 pm ) .

So He Was Having 4 Bottles Of Formula A Day And 1 Solid Meal.
The ‘Snack’ Bottles Were Half Of What He Would Drink In His Other Bottles, Can’t Remember How Much Though.

24 weeks for us, the guidelines are 26 weeks. I would never start to wean at 4 months just too early in my opinion

Just after 4 months. I know you’re told not to until 6 months now but he was a hungry baby and my health visitor said it was fine. He was late getting to 3 full meals a day though. Perhaps 7 or 8 months.

I thought my daughter was ready at almost 5 months so I tried her then but she wasn’t really ready and was quite fussy with it. So I stopped for a few weeks and picked it back up again when she was almost 6 months old. My son was weaned at 4 months but that was 5 years ago and we were told it was fine at that age back then.

We started cereal at 4 months (he is 7 and a half months now) after 2 weeks of cereal. I introduced 1 bottle of forumla a day, instead of nursing him.
After another 2 weeks I gave 2 bottles a day.
Then he started getting up more often at night, so we gave him 2-3 oz’s of forumla at bed time, and then I nursed him.
We continued to add a bottle at a time every few weeks, and he was weaned at 7 months completely.
He eats like a trooper! He is eating mashed foods, teething biscuits and puffs. He loves cheese and rice pasta.
I would highly recommend starting food if she is showing an interest. My guy was watching us eat before 3 months and was very keen on it. He had no problems at all.
    Ask your Dr though.
He is sleeping from 6am-6pm with no wakes up’s in the middle of the night now. Its wonderful.
I miss nursing a bit, but he seems much happier and more content.
I know the recommendation is breastfeeding till a year but everyone is different and needs to do what works for them.
I have a friend that is breastfeeding her 16 month old, and he will barely eat a thing.
I have another friend that started at 6 months, and her son will barely eat either. He was showing interest in food early and she decided to wait and I don’t know if there was a window of opportuniy she missed, but she is having a heck of a time with him!
Another friend started at 5 months and he is a happy happy happy boy. She was complaining to me that she was getting up every 2 hours to nurse, and he was grumpy and miserable all day. I asked her if she thought that maybe he was just hungry? She tried the cereal and in 2 days he was a different baby.
